The students in the Jefferson City Academic Center (JCAC) SOAR program partnered with Moreau Heights kindergarten students in an event to promote and establish good reading habits and develop a love of reading. Two companies within the Jefferson City community generously donated a total of 460 books to assist with the program's need to provide and promote good reading habits to their younger students. This donation allowed the students to create 60 reading tote bags. Preparation for the event happened in stages. The SOAR students washed, ironed, painted, scripted a quote, and packed the totes full of books to give to their kindergarten students as a reminder to "Get their hands on a good book."
