Years ago, John Lubbock, the Lord Avebury stated, “The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn.” A banker, politician, philanthropist, and scientist, John was a polymath, or an expert in many subjects and disciplines. Teachers are also called upon to demonstrate prowess in many diverse subject areas. Lubbock reminds us through this quote that developing the passion for lifelong learning within students is the key to their success.
It is my honor and privilege to serve as the Executive Director of the Jefferson City Public Schools Foundation. Our Foundation is committed and dedicated to supporting exceptional learning opportunities in the classroom from our pre-K kiddos at Southwest Early Childhood Center to our graduating Seniors. We bolster those learning environments through providing Teacher and School grants that are funded by the many generous gifts from gracious donors. We also lift up our graduating Seniors to help them pursue a higher education degree through selected scholarships. Our teachers inspire lifelong learners in the classroom that ultimately shape our community and world! On behalf of the Foundation, we express our heartfelt gratitude to all donors, teachers, administrators, and Board of Directors for their deep commitment to helping us support our premier school district.
