The Jefferson City Public School (JCPS) Foundation Gala was held on September 26, 2017.  "Honoring Traditions- Building the Future" was the theme throughout the evening. This year's event focused on the importance of remembering the past history and traditions that play a key role in allowing us to build toward the future. The JCPS Foundation Gala is an annual event to celebrate public education and induct special friends of the Foundation and school district into the Foundation's Hall of Leaders program. JCHS Orchestra String Quartet welcomed guests as they entered the Capitol Plaza reception area, then guests were escorted into the ballroom by the JCHS Drumline. The stage was set with construction like props. One, large, bricklike column represented the past, displaying the academic, jaybird logo. Another bricklike column was situated to the right side of the stage, with a banner that displayed the words "under construction" to represent what is in store for JCPS, with the upcoming addition of a second high school. Foundation board president, Mr. Steve Brennaman recognized this year's 2017 Hall of Leader honorees throughout the evening, allowing special remarks being shared by fellow community members, coworkers, and friends.
